Pros

Full-time employment Healthcare benefits Sick time Pension Other benefits were nice to have (if you stay long enough to receive them)

Cons

As there are so many cons to working for this organization, I don't know where to begin. Goodwill Industries of Dallas highly advertises to the public that it hires disadvantaged people and those who have disabilities, which it does. What the organization doesn't disclose, however, is that they also hire and promote individuals with personality and social skills problems and fails to train them to function in a normal productive working environment with diverse people. As such, these people with social/personality disorders end up destroying the careers of other disadvantaged employees under them via psychological abuse and by ultimately firing them. Some of the Store Managers, Retail Managers and HR VPs have formed a crony circle within this organization and they will collectively slander, bully and terminate without due diligence any employee who exposes corruption that they want to cover up. Further, they will lie to candidates in interviews by painting a positive picture of the work environment when the reality is that the stores are severely understaffed, the management is incompetent and the stores are in gross disarray. Assistant Managers (Keyholders) who exposed reconciliation discrepancies and time card errors of other managers were terminated immediately, slandered to HR, asked to leave and threatened with police arrest if they ever returned to the store. As Goodwill Industries of Dallas is currently without a CEO, the organization is operating like a ship without a rudder with a few mean and vindictive managers appointing themselves as executives and running the entire show. This organization has a very toxic culture and this is clearly exemplified by the high turnover rate that is present and by the low morale shown by its employees.
