Low Pay

Pros

A lot of un-paid time off and sick time (also un-paid mostly).

Cons

The job is stressful and doesn’t pay well at all. My local McDonald’s pays almost as much to kids that have zero work experience. It’s a joke.

Pros

Work from home availability in the pandemic Nice co-workers

Cons

Trust this- they do not care about you. They make it clear from very early on that you are replaceable. They do not want you to advance. They do not value your work or time. Workload too heavy for the incredibly low pay. Management is inadequate and is not, and seem to have no desire to be open or receptive to employee feedback. Very, very underpaid. Very poor training program. A near complete lack of empathy from management. I was asked to log in and do work while out sick, so you could say they expect much more from you than a 40 hr work week.

Pros

Work from home Nice co-workers Experience not required

Cons

Very low pay (I could not even afford my own apartment in suburban Atlanta working 40 hours a week) I heard of cases of interpreters who had to work out of their closets because they could not afford to have a home office Lack of health benefits High turnover rate and low worker morale Video calls are just a way for them to collect more money and a true nuisance to the interpreter Because of the low pay, I had to work many more hours than I was able to handle just to make ends meet. I was drained at the end of the day! No pay raises!
