Pros

Remote work, flexible hours, decent training. Can be rewarding work if you stick it out.

Cons

Pay is quite low for the field, but as LLS outsources to Latin American countries, they take advantage of the conversion rate and get away with it. The work is quite exhausting, often dealing with back-to-back calls, intense and fast interpreting with complex vocabulary, and rude clients. The worst part, however, is the horrid app through which you receive calls: it doesn't work half the time, constantly presents errors, and tends to have terrible audio quality, which of course affects the quality of the interpretation.

Pros

It’s remote, best part about the job

Cons

High calls volume, low pay. Calls ALWAYS go over your scheduled time and you don’t get compensated for OT OR HOLIDAYS. Unprofessional staffs (especially during training sessions). Expect you to handle calls of all nature, from insurance to government calls. Will force you to “level up” against your will (as in if you’re already L4 - qualified to take medical calls at the time you’re hired and initially trained, they will force you to train for L5 - legal calls, and eventually train you to take USCIS and FEMA calls). Not to mention, they only give you LITERALLY 2 days notice before your supposed new training starts. Some trainers are nice, some will talk just to hear themselves talk. Had one trainer shared something super personal and traumatic about his life in the middle of training… Emailed riddled with grammatical mistakes and misinformation - just shows you how much they pay attention to their job. Ok starting position if you actually like being an interpreter. But if you’re just looking to make some money and not passionate about this line of work, please please please try elsewhere. This place will drain you.

Pros

Remote job, online training, and they pay on time. Some trainers and managers are nice.

Cons

They will work you until you break. They'll pile responsibilities with no promise of pay increase or job title change. You won't be able to reach managers via phones if you have concerns about payroll or your work hours, only through emails and support request, and they will take their time to get back to you. Their support desk can only help so much with tech support and escalations. You'll start at the lower position, then they'll force you (as in, using the agreement that you signed when you first started the job) to be in a higher level position with little to no pay increase. Rude LEPs and clients, you'll spend hours explain the application process (with complex terms) for the LEP to hangup at the end of it. If you're getting court calls and the judge ask if you're certified, they told you to say that "I am certified by LLS"
