Pros

I like being able to work at home. The pay is decent for the position, and the HRA comes in handy.

Cons

There are many things I dislike. When I started there, the team leads were much more competent and supportive of agents. Now they change constantly, and apparently get promoted to team leads based on how fast they're able to get customers off the phone, something I find absurd. Certain of the team leads and other higher ups are rude and have absolutely no professionalism or people skills, which makes for poor communication all around. There is no point in asking quesions or expressing concerns about the job, because employees are not heard or respected. Metrics are the company's main concern, and the metrics for some projects are nearly impossible to achieve, especially given the constant technical problems the company has with their systems. Agents are expected to meet all the metrics daily regardless of any technical issues beyond their control that prevent them from doing so. If they fail to handle a customer call in the time allotted, they are spoken to with condescension and pressured to get their times down or risk a written warning or public humiliation by their superiors in front of fellow employees. The promotion and raise structure for my particular project depends on speed, not the quality of the customer service provided.

Pros

If you are billable to a client, you have job security Some managers treat direct reports with respect On paper it all looks good High consultant utilization rate Well respected company brand in niche markets

Cons

Poor financial decisions leading to greater job instability and low stock value Consulting services funds Behavioral Analytics start up venture that will eventually be sold off while consulting dies a slow death Executives are required to invest % of salary into company shares and will benefit by company sale. At the same time, company has reduced benefits and salaries for employees to prop up the balance sheet College grads from with zero real work experience are hired into Behavioral Analytics at high salaries and perform as academics when high quality repeatable end results need to be delivered Several rounds of layoffs that affect consulting mostly, where the billable revenue comes from Promotions are political and not based on performance Poor benefits compared to competitors - No 401k funding from company Salary increases are given in shares of company stock

Pros

They provided adequate training, and working from home is a plus. Monthly incentives are provided as a "bonus" on your paycheck. That "bonus" rounds out to be about $150/month if you meet all established metrics.

Cons

The required metrics are tightened month after month until it is virtually impossible to meet them. Once you get to that point, you're only making your hourly wage you were hired at AND they do not offer raises. Your monthly "bonus" is what they consider your raise, so you will never make any more than what you agreed to at hiring, no matter how long you've been there. Plus, it helps if you're a critical thinker and good on your feet because once you're out of training, you are pretty much on your own. There is support out there (is what you're told), but when you need it and reach out, there is rarely a response. For some, it can be a difficult (or impossible) learning curve.
