Pros

Its an OK environment, they seem semi flexible.

Cons

My first day filling out paper work, I had questions but no manager around to ask. Eventually the manager came back to make sure it was filled out. Assigned me a time card which they immediately lost. Handed me a shirt that wasn't my size, and I've since asked for a new one. I wasn't shown around and wasn't shown procedures. Since working here, I've developed an absolute distrust of the company and its management staff. I was left unaware that it is required to run racks and put things away, which is acceptable.... but you can't leave at the end of the day until the entire staff collectively has done a quota of 30 racks. Which isn't always easy & more often than not you're stuck in the store til 10pm. Let alone putting away another 2/3 racks that come from dressing rooms, that need to be put away. As its required to put things away, you're also to hustle to the sound of a page whenever someone needs a dressing rm. or a case item, which again if on register, you can't do anything about it. As a cashier when I call for my manager and need back up, I would expect my leader's to step in and be available immediately. Instead I'm up front waiting with the customer, repeating "they should be here any moment" ... Its simple customer service that seems to be lacking, whenever a manager fails to come to the front it makes everyone look bad especially the face they're seeing directly:mine. Generally because I know it is about customer service... I'm calm, polite, or just as fed up along with the customer that customers are pretty nice. But again when I have to call for a manager with bills over $20, a return, or a price reduction ((which they nvr-rarely ever do)) And then stand there for 5...10...sometimes even 15mins having a customer stare at you even if nicely becomes a bit more than awkward. Majority of the customers are nice (even though some don't seem to understand its second hand, not name brand) At the end of the day its a cashiers job to stock and run at least 4/5racks, pick up, collect carts, & clean. At the end of the day especially a half price day, you really don't feel like minimum wage is enough...

Pros

Their mission is to keep people working through donations, they do that! they do give people an opportunity to work

Cons

Upper management has NO clue how to run this operations. NONE of their location are in compliance with local and state laws. they refuse to end the work assignments of anyone, because they are a non profit and don't pay unemployment taxes, so they take a big hit when someone files for unemployment..there operation in Newcastle is nothing more than a landfill. One of the most unsafe places I've ever worked. They have people running their GRC operations that is at the very minimum plays favorites and at worst is racist.they are only out to make themselves look good to the CEO.

Pros

Repetitive work if you like that, good health insurance, but 'you' pay for it and it's required, so you work one week free every two or it comes out to be $6.21/hour but on paper your wage is $10/hour.

Cons

Sorting thru nasty items daily, 1 weekend off a month, never having your 2 off days together, no family time, closing shifts 3 per week of your 5 shifts when hired in they said 2 per week, but they aren't together either. Can't plan anything, won't give approval for pto you earned. Upper management has their favorites and only promotes them. Can't tell anyone what's in the store for sale or you'll get fired, can't shop in the store you work in. Took away all bonus opportunities
