Pros

Except for having a job vrs none....There are allot of people that come in a treat you like a person then there are those that come in and treat you like crap.

Cons

The Weaverville store is very rude and fired me because of a back injury and it was inconvenient for them....I'm sure not all Goodwills are like this. Also they do try and brainwash you into thinking they do soo much good. This is what happens they get DONATIONS they sell the donations...whatever doesn't sell there goes to the outlet to by the pound then if it doesn't sell they take it in the back and smush it into clothes bales...and you guessed it they then sell it to a company that then the other company or person sends it over seas! I really hate that they play it off like they sent it over seas...hello if it wasn't for donations your CO wouldn't be making millions a year!!!! That's why I say donate to salvation army...a real non profit store.

Pros

Good Hours Bonus at the end of the month

Cons

where do I even start? management is extremely catty and disorganized. Childish and demeaning behavior toward lower staff. The customers are no better. They will curse you out and criticize you if they do not get a discount. And management values money over employees as there were many instances where customers would say crude (and racist) remarks to employees as management does nothing to defend them. overall management could care less about the employees and it is just best to stay clear from this company overall. Great amount of favoritism and overall cattiness toward young people of this company as most of the employees are in their late 30's and 40's working minimum wage. They would always instigate and spread rumours about the younger staff that would automatically lead to hostility. Jealousy towards employees who have a bright future and childishness ruined my enthusiasm for working in this deplorable company.

Pros

I've been with Goodwill for almost 3 years. Good people to work for. Plenty of opportunities for upward mobility for those who like to make a difference! Proceeds of retail operations are utilized to help people with developmental disabilities.

Cons

Retail associates should be paid more. (As a manager, I've heard that an increase is being discussed). Turn over is excessive due to wages. It seems as if I train new associates so they can work for someone else!
