Pros

They do have a decent benefit package. Employees receive holiday pay for 8 holidays a year and 80 hours of paid time off after first year but this also includes sick leave. Regular employees are a great bunch of people

Cons

Where to start...The employee handbook should be titled "1001 ways for us to fire you" also as goodwill is a non-profit that you expect is a charity, as we all know the charity work is minimal and most of the money goes to executive salaries. A co-worker who is disabled but a regular employee was fired for eating a piece of donated candy (candy that comes in donations is regularly consumed by employees as Goodwill does not sell it). Management is unfair and egotistical. New policies are less safe but make management look good. Workmans comp claims are high which will prove that point. Overall this place is like a prison

Pros

Some of the fellow employees are very nice and good people.

Cons

I don't even know where to start.. The revolving door of employees - hired and fired in the crazy cycle. In one week you could see 3 people go and 3 new ones (at least) just to see at least one of them quit within the first 3 days. This place needs a serious shake up from the top down. Canada Revenue Agency, Human Rights Tribunal and media should take a closer look at what goes on in this "company". Mistreatment, lies, abuse of employees are standard practices - not an exception. Their pay is akin to those in the 3rd world sweatshops, not a civilized 1st world country. The organization is going downhill market wise and employment wise for the last few years and there are no improvements being made to do anything about it. My advice to anyone looking at this place - stay away from them unless you don't mind being treated like trash and kick in the butt with minimum pay, not paid overtimes, no benefits at all and no prospects for the future. Union is joke in this place - totally sucking up to the execs. They will not protect you.
