At least at my location we had good management and good coworkers. Everyone was cool and there was a lot of transparency from the higher ups.

Cons

The customers leave a lot to be desired. They have little respect for those who work here.

Pros

The work environment I experienced at Goodwill encouraged my own personal development to grow alongside challenges of the business. I was given an entire department to cultivate, including everything from receiving and pricing to display and customer service. Superiors were receptive and forward thinking.

Cons

Corporate communication to stores was limited to very wide generalities. More precision spirited strategies went unsupported, like when I tried to get a more coherent merchandising strategy for the Housewares Dept to be adapted storewide, and I made a training manual, the District manager said he wanted to use it company-wide, promised me a raise, and then failed to implement even our one store's distribution of the guide, no less to other stores. For several months until closed by Covid, no salary increase ever materialized.
