Pros

None I saw and from what co-workers said. If you want earn a living salary and can talk whole day, tolerate rude people.

Cons

Nothing good. This company tried to tell you good things when you joined them. The recruiter acted like a nice person but they are not nice when problem happen or will be willing to help. The recruiter can raise her voice too. For HR, when you ask them questions, they will tell you - this is the rule and do not admit they were wrong if there is problem. HR and Recruiter not professional and helpful at all. Even you work hard, work well, who cares. Low pay for the job. Back to back calls with ZERO second or a few second. Day end, you get throadache, earache. Plus, clients can raise voice and see you as inferior. You will be monitored by a supervisor without you knowing it when. Benefits almost same as zero. The company is sinking and sure will be replaced with a much better company just in a few years.

Pros

There is no pros, they pretend to be professional but only try to waste your time

Cons

They have a stupid evaluation process and accusing me can’t speak mandarin. As a formal radio station host back in China, I feel insulted, and ridiculous. They hire someone who really cannot speak mandarin, according to my past experience in court with them. The recruiters are very mean, rude and want to fool you and waste your time, just play their little power in their hands. Do not apply to this company. It sucks

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. LanguageLine has many partner relationships in the industry, and we appreciate all of them. Your employment relationship was with one of our partners and not directly with LanguageLine. We would encourage you to reach out to them directly and share your feedback.

Pros

WFH, decent training for the most part (though the trainers did not show up on time on three different occasions, we had to wait for an hour). The interpreting work itself is great for myself, I am learning a lot and have a sense of being useful, needed, helpful.

Cons

Low pay, subpar benefits, no federal holidays, non-transparent communication, punitive environment, cheap computers, Internet explorer is the choice of a browser in 2023, they can cancel your scheduled work the last minute (so you can't plan ahead and you do not get paid once they cancel your shift), the reimbursements differ amongst the interpreters, so any talk about the wages is strongly discouraged on their internal chat platform, and on and on.

Thank you for taking time to leave a review. As a “Great Place to Work” we are always looking for ways to improve our interpreter’s experiences. After doing an extensive evaluation of our pay and benefits in comparison to other employers in our business, we find that our compensation and benefits are consistent with the industry. We regularly review industry compensation. Additionally, we have many other resources available to support you with equipment and technical issues. If you would like to discuss further, please email interpretercommunications@languageline.com.
