Pros

- You work from home.

Cons

- They make you get a Telmex landline. Even if you already have one, you have to get another line just for LLS business. - This is an outsourced position, which means you get only the most basic benefits. - Clients from India are awful and rude. - I never saw any real bonuses or over time payment. When you get recruited they say your paycheck will reach at least 12,000 pesos. That's a lie, I never made more than 4,000 pesos per month. - Though training is paid, that's the moment when you realize that most of the people they hire are merely bilingual and pretty much unskilled. - Calls are back to back and tend to be extremely stressful. - This position is fine if you are a student or you don't really need this as primary income. In any other case, the pay is way too low.

Pros

- Two day weekend - No transportation expenses to get to the job -"Not too bad" payment if you reside out of the US (that´s why these people are outsourcing jobs)

Cons

These people want interpreting machines, robots. Back to back calls, as dozens of other reviews state, as the day goes by you start to get tired, but oh no, you have to adhere to the 8 hr schedule no matter what. So much fun! You have to take calls from rude people; clients and LEPs, many of whom lack common sense, courtesy, are ignorant and not the sharpest tool on the shed, specially the LEPs, but still you have to take their frustrations and rudeness with a smile because of "customer service". Condescending and stupid supervisors, with CEO complex, who don´t have a hint of criteria, as it is forbidden for them. I guess they have to keep their jobs and kiss feet. You have to attach to a interpreting system which is many times a waste of time for the client and LEP, machine like, asking permission to the client for everything, many of them get really annoyed, and there is the other kind of client, with who you can´t clarify a single word directly with the LEP without asking, because they get all offended as if you are having a personal conversation with the LEP, real paranoid and lacking of common sense people, to say the least. And finally the paying part. These people take bilingual employees from outside the US and pay them the equivalent of barely 3 USD/hr. In my country, that is an ok pay per month, comparing it to other hunger salaries available, but you get a clue as what kind of exploitative and abusive company this is. They also use an outsourcing employment agency, to cut as much beneffits as possible , and finally that agency, here in Mexico makes you sign your blank resignation letter at the same time you sign your contract, so you don´t have any rights if they let you go, all of these with a "take it or leave it" attitude. That is illegal, but they do it because of the legal gaps in the laws over here. Don´t take this job, unless there are absolutely no other options left.

Pros

Work from home enviroment can be forgiving. Company will hire basically anyone who is bilingual.

Cons

No professional growth. Unhealthy workload. Only way to make a decent wage is by working overtime. A LOT of overtime that is not always available. Company will hire basically anyone who is bilingual. It is not uncommon for a judge, doctor, rep, etc. to tell you that the previous interpreter was atrocious.
