Pros

I get to see my neighbor's dog from my window.

Cons

Demanding set of rules, but the pay is insulting. I was there to learn the basics of medical terms and general interpretation skills. After a few months of learning the ropes, I ran as fast as I could. There was no loyalty earned from this sweatshop. The support staff was rude and miserable with their job as well. Interpreting for nurses and bank staff can also be a test of patience, as they are vile and looking for a someone to take it out on . I'm now located in a third world country doing a similar translation work, but making TWICE as much per hour as I did with LLS. Anybody who worked here should go for a proper detox and seek out some religion.

Work from home, that's it!

Cons

New software has kinks. Lowest wage I've ever been paid for interpreting. Communications with management is non-existent. IT department always has problems.

Work from home. No need to travel.

Cons

There is no "direct" supervisor. Work load is very heavy. You are on your own most of time, but there is QA person will come and check on you periodically, which you have to pass both customer and interpretation part soon, or you will be in trouble. Lack of support for interpreters. I am grateful during the time I worked for them and I have the job. But I don't think they cared about their workers. We are just a number to them.
